This is the sunrise view from Mt. Sinai.

This is the Marriott resort we stayed at on the Red Sea for 3 days.

We stayed in really nice hotels the whole trip. This is the lobby of the Intercontinental Citystars Cairo Hotel in Egypt.

We saw the Pyramids of Giza, the Spinx, and the River Nile.

These shots were taken at Petra. That city and the carvings in the mountain are amazing!

Taking the tram up to the top of Masada

We rode camels up to Mt. Sinai and then hiked until we reached the summit. We were there for the sunrise and it was breathtaking.

We stopped to swim in the Dead Sea on the way to Masada. You really do float but it really burns when the salt water gets in your eyes, as Alan found out.
These steps go up to the Palace of Caiphus where Jesus was tried and kept the night before he was crucified. They are still the original steps.

This is the cave where the Dead Sea Scrolls were found.

Dome of the Rock

These are the ruins of the 7 pools of Bethesada.

Western wall of Jerusalem, formally known as the Wailing Wall.

Another view of Jerusalem from the Mt. of Olives

View from the Mt. of Olives of Jerusalem

This is the cave of Lehi were Lehi and his family hid after leaving Jerusalem. It is 22 miles from Jerusalem or one day's journey.

Bethlehem today

Caesarea is where the Roman's vacationed at one of Herod's temples and palaces. Paul was sent here after it was found that he was a Roman citizen.

Mt. Carmel is where we have Elijah's confrontation with the priests of Baal. This is where the oxen would have been dowsed with water and then set on fire.

Nazareth: This is a watchtower in an olive grove.

These are the ruins of Capernaum where Jesus chose desciples. It is on the Sea of Galilee.

People swimming in the River Jordan baptising themselves.

We stayed in a nice hotel in Tiberius on the Sea of Galilee. This is the view from our room.

The Jordan River is where Christians from all over the world go to get baptised or baptize themselves. They adorn white garments (over their bathing suits) to enter the river. This particular place had a tourist gift shop and white outfit rental concession.

We stayed in a nice hotel in Amman. We stayed just one night then traveled into Israel, passing the land of Jericho.
The locals were hogging up all the benches in the waiting area.

Cairo Airport

We arrived at the Cairo Airport but immediately took another plane to Amman, Jordan.
